Lake Norman Provides Refreshing Respite

The largest freshwater lake in North Carolina? It is Lake Norman.

The lake was actually created in 1963 by Duke Power and is 34 miles long with 520 miles of shoreline, including a scenic stretch in southern Catawba County.

The waterway is ideal for fishing and boating, and many high-priced homes are situated along its shoreline. Lake Norman bills itself as an ideal place to host meetings, conferences and events, and the area also has attractions such as upscale shopping and year-round golfing.
